THIRD QUARTER OF THE 17TH CENTURY
With near-flat double-edged blade, both sides punched and engraved with the inscription 'S.A.H.A.G.V.M' within the short fuller and cut with running wolf mark (polished bright, traces of latten), iron hilt including shaped inner- and outer-rings each filled with a solid plate, half-basket guard of slender bars with boldly formed mouldings, and original wooden grip (binding missing)
