EARLY 17TH CENTURY
With two-piece skull rising to a roped narrow comb, pivoted chinpiece formed with a prominent chin and with turned roped edge about the face opening, neck-guard of two associated lames front and rear, earlier visor drawn-out to a strong prow and with roped occular flange, studded with brass-capped rivets throughout, and struck with a series of assembly marks on the inside.
