Lot Essay

Delaney was born in Manchester and his work is inspired by memories of his childhood. He was influenced by the work of L.S. Lowry and set out to capture the atmosphere of the 1930s, producing street scenes which capture the nostalgia of the period with rattling tramcars and gas lamps under smokey grey skies.
