Lot Essay

The parents of Tom Burn (d.1985) bought Rous Lench Court, a 16th Century half-timbered house in 1928 and encouraged him to start a collection. Over the next fifty-seven years he formed a remarkable collection of 17th and 18th Century pottery, porcelain, furniture, textiles and works of art. Tom Burn made regular visits to Roger Warner's shop in Burford.
