The Coat-of-Arms represents a depiction of the arms used by Tudor monarchs from Henry VII to Elizabeth I. The lion and dragon supporters were used by all the sovereigns.
A similar heraldic panel carved with the arms of Henry VIII, formerly in the collection of Sir Guy Francis Laking, was sold in the Peter Gwynn Collection, Sotheby's London, 27 November 2001, lot 28.
