Lot Essay

Thomas Gambier Parry (d.1888) was an English artist and art collector. He is best remembered for his development of the Gambier Parry process of fresco painting. He purchased the Highnam Court estate in 1837 and remodelled the house and employed James Pulham & Son to landscape the gardens.
