Octagonal, the center based on a bookplate with the arms of Vaughn impaling Hallowell above the motto INPURUDENTIA ET SIMPLICETATE. and the script name Samuel Vaughn, the cavetto with a chain-link band, alternating landscape and bird on branch cartouches at the border
