Lot Essay

Charles Octave Levy (?-1899) exhibited his works at the Salon between 1873 and 1898. The bronze statue "Le Faneur", which was edited in several dimensions, was exhibited at the Salon in 1890. A version of 100cm. is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Les Bronzes du XIXe Siècle, Paris, 1989, p. 440.
