Painted with peony and bamboo growing amidst pierced rocks, two birds in flight above, the lightly molded middle register decorated with a lotus plant, a branch of finger citron and another rock above a band of pendant leaf tips, with a brown dressing on the mouth rim

Compare the beaker vase of similar form and painted in a similar style bearing an inscription which includes a date corresponding to 1640, included in the Hong Kong O.C.S. exhibition, Transitional Wares and Their Forerunners, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 29 January - 29 March 1981, p. 89, no. 65.
