The present lot is part of a series of drawings after compositions by Andrea del Sarto, 28 of which are in the Uffizi, Florence (see A. Giovanetti, Francesco Morandini, dello il Poppi, Florence 1995, D2, figs. 115-127) including a study of the left side of The Annunciation to Zacharias, dated 1569 (inv. no. 14464F; op. cit., fig. 115).
