An Inlaid Celadon Stoneware Bowl
Goryeo dynasty (13th century)
Deep and circular, inlaid on the interior in white slip with three pomegranate sprays alternating with three chrysanthemum sprays centering a further inlaid medallion of a chrysanthemum flower within a double-ring and cloud collar, all below a narrow band of inlaid lines and grasses below the rim; the exterior inlaid in white slip with a repeated band of grasses above a wide frieze of black-and white-slip chrysanthemum roundels surrounded by curling foliage resting on a narrower band of upright stiff leaves outlined in white and black slip, the whole applied with a celadon glaze; three spur marks in the shallow recessed circular base
