A RARE OPAQUE JADE CURVED FITTING
LATE SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, 11TH-10TH CENTURY BC
Somewhat thick and carved on the convex side in double grooves with addorsed crouching dragons, their heads with coiled nose and single fang facing each end which is pierced with a conical hole at one end and a biconical hole at the other, the subtly notched upper and lower edges carved with scale-like patterns, the concave reverse left plain, the stone now opaque and of warm ivory tone with satin-like polish, traces of cinnabar
