A FAMILLE VERTE STEM CUP AND A DOUCAI BOWL
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The stem cup thinly potted and delicately painted on the exterior with three flower sprigs including yellow rose and chrysanthemum; the bowl painted on the exterior with a continuous scene of the Three Star Gods, Shoulao carrying a large peach as he approaches Fuxing and Luxing accompanied by boys, with a medallion of three boys at play on the interior; both with an apocryphal Chenghua mark
Cup 2½ in.(6.3 cm.) high, box; bowl 7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) diam. (2)
Provenance
Acquired by the grandfather of the present owners, Whampoa, Guangdong, circa 1890 - 1920s, thence by descent within the family.
