A SOFT BLUE-GREEN AND RUSSET SEMI-TRANSLUCENT JADEITE BALUSTER VASE AND COVER
The vase of oblong section carved in high relief on one side with a bitter gourd vine rising from the russet-skinned pierced rock at one side of the rockwork base from which also rises a day lily and on which lies a dog, with a grasshopper on one leaf and a moth on a pendent melon, with a link chain attaching one of the flower sprig handles to the cover which is carved with a small pomegranate and a beetle on a lotus bud utilizing the darker green areas of the stone
