Finely constructed of thin strips of hardwood joined by wider sections forming the square frame, fitted with a gilt-metal inlaid and inscribed hanger and bat-form lift on the door, flanked by two small carved agate birds, the interior with two wood perches carved on either end with two cash emblems, with porcelain and ivory birdfeeders, gilt-metal inlaid fixtures, and small shovel

Provenance
Acquired in Shanghai between 1974-5, and thence by descent within the family to the present owner.
