India, Rajasthan, 18th century
Depicting a king with his companion seated on a marble terrace
under the night sky, singers and musicians opposite and attendants
on both sides, a bed being prepared inside the palace and women
at the windows above, a lush green landscape and pink rocks in
the background, signed "Rafi' al-Din" at left of stairs
