A thangka of Buddha with Life Scenes
Tibet, circa 18th century
Depicting the Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a multicolored lotus at center, his left hand in dhyana mudra and his right in an open-palmed gesture of compassion, clad in voluminous saffron and crimson robes, backed by a blue aureole, his golden face with a green halo, surrounded by scenes depicting the Buddha giving various teachings within a mountainous green and blue landscape
