Lot Essay

Although apparently unsigned, the present centre-table may be attributed to Linke on the basis of the mounts and marquetry, both of which appear on known models produced by the ébéniste (see lot 99, sold in these rooms, 19 March 2008). The corner mounts and marquetry also appear on lot 133 in this sale, a guéridon almost certainly supplied for Sormani by Linke. Please see lot 117 for a note on François Linke.
