Tasting note: The 1997 Bonnes Mares is medium to dark ruby-coloured, and offers beguiling aromas of red and black fruits, stones, and earth. It explodes on the palate, with super-expressive candied red cherries, as well as liquorice and road tar flavours. This rich, dense, gorgeously structured, powerful, and expansive wine is masculine and broad-shouldered, yet opulent and hedonistic.
