THREE WITH MARK OF ROBERT COX, THE FOURTH UNMARKED, ALL MID-18TH CENTURY
The first with maker's mark only, the cover chased with a bird amidst scrolls and a tree, the back engraved with initials M*B; a second by the same maker, London, 1741, the cover similarly chased; and a third by Robert Cox, struck with maker's mark and lion passant only, the cover chased with flowers and scrolls; together with a fourth unmarked example, the cover centred by an auxiliary compartment with its own separate mocha agate-set cover, the inside of the cover with mirror, the borders chased with scrolls and leafage; all with gilt interiors
