Lot Essay

Olga Davenport took a studio in the south of France not long after World War Two and would motor down alone to work there. This productive period came to an end when her husband insisted she return to England. Patrick Heron thought her drawing uniquely her own and urged Davenport to exhibit her drawings and watercolours.
