From the Mihr-o Mushtari of 'Assar, gouache heightened with gold on paper, the miniatures depicting Mihr at various activities including killing a lion, sailing in a large black boat, wrestling a beast, being entertained by musicians, approaching a city whilst spectators look on and sitting in a cave before a holy man, each folio with two columns of black nasta'liq within gold and black intercolumnar rules, the versos similar, one with a heading in blue naskh on foliate ground, some flaking and fading of paint

The Mir-o Mushtari, a love story based on the concept of platonic love, was first composed in AH 778/1376-77 AD by Shaikh Shams al-Din Hajji Muhammad 'Assar Tabrizi (d. circa AH 784/1382 AD).
