Qianlong (1735-1796)
One series painted to the central roundel with a flower-vase beside a large blooming peony, the rim with shaped panels of flowers reserved on a floral and diaper-pattern ground, eighteen plates 22.5 cm. diam., six plates 25.3 cm. diam.; and a series of octagonal dishes painted with flowering peony in a leaf-shaped panel reserved on a spiral and floral ground embellished with peach-shaped panels of peony and gardenia, one dish 42.5 cm. diam., three 35.5 cm. diam., one 28.5 cm. diam., and six plates 22 cm. diam., chips, cracks and frits (35)
