The plate showing the famous mythological scene of the 'Judgment of Paris', a band of gilt rocaille scrollwork at the wavy border, small chip, 22.5 cm. diam.; a lobed dish painted in iron-red to the central medallion with a scene of Venus choosing a cupid symbolising money over one that symbolises love, surrounded by four pink and green flower-sprays, 21.3 cm. wide; and a milk-jug and cover painted in iron-red enamels with a European couple, 14 cm. high (3)

For the judgment of Paris plate see F. and N. Hervouët and Y. Bruneau, La Porcelaine des compagnies des Indes à Décor Occidental, p. 310, pl. 13.71 and pl. 13.75 for similar examples.
The lobed saucer dish is illustrated by the same authors on p. 295, pl. 13.15 where they state that the design is taken from an engraving by Cl. Dufflos after an original by Francesco Albani.
