LEOVILLE BARTON
The smallest portion of what was once the massive Leoville estate, Leoville Barton has been owned by the Barton family since 1826. The 48 hectares sit on gravelly-clay soil in the eastern part of St. Julien and are planted with 72 Cabernet Sauvignon, 20 Merlot and 8 Cabernet France. The wines are matured for 18 months in 50 new oak barriques. Typically classic claret, the wines are best consumed with ten to fifteen years of bottle age.
