Lot Essay

Related walnut side chairs covered in Flemish verdure tapestry were sold from Doddington Hall, Lincolnshire, Christie's, London, 2 May 1929, lot 73. They were possibly commissioned in the 1720s for Seaton Delaval, Northumberland. A pair was sold from the Simon Sainsbury Collection, Christie's, London, 18 June 2008, lot 243.
