Of lobed form, the center lightly molded with a scene of two swans swimming among bulrushes, another flying overhead, the rocaille rim and shell-molded handles enriched in gilt, the border with Kakiemon flower sprays

Lot Essay

The Swan service was originally made for Count Brühl (1700-1763), the Prime Minister of Saxony and director of the Meissen factory from 1733 to 1763, on the occasion of his marriage.
