LATE 19TH CENTURY, BLUE PARALLEL LINE MARKS TO SOCLE AND STAND
Of shield shape flanked by gilt enriched upright pistol handles with eagle mask and ring terminals, finely painted with a classical view of a recumbent nude and attendants before a pool, the reverse with putti flanking a dove resting on an urn, the gadrooned shoulder, lower body and resist ground enriched in platinum, the neck, socle and stand enriched in burnished, matte and raised paste gilding

Lot Essay

See Christie's, East, New York, 2 November 1989, lot 146 for an example of this form painted with a portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm I and signed H. Stadler. Hans Stadler is recorded as a porcelain painter in Vienna during the mid to late 1880's.
