A GREEK GOLD RING WITH CHRISTIAN INSCRIPTION
CIRCA 4TH CENTURY B.C./A.D.
The hollow gold hoop flat on the interior and rounded on the exterior, widening to the flat oval bezel, the hoop interior with a later dotted Chi-Rho and two Greek letters
Bezel 1 7/8 in. (2.2 cm.) wide
Provenance
Reputedly from the De Clercq collection (1836-1901), Paris.
Given as a gift to the present owner by Robin Symes in 1969.
