AN EGYPTIAN GESSO-PAINTED CARTONNAGE MASK
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY B.C./A.D.
With black outlined eyes and brows, 7½ in. (19 cm.) high; a wood mummy mask with extended eyeline, circa 7th-4th Century B.C., with separately applied beard, 11½ in. (29 cm.) high; and a painted female stucco mask, applied over a wood core, with painted eyelashes and brows, striated black hair tied in a chignon at the back, wearing foliate wreath, circa 1st Century A.D., 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) high, all mounted (3)
Provenance
Acquired by the present owner's parents in Egypt during the 1930s-1940s.
