A SUITE OF FRENCH GILTWOOD AND AUBUSSON TAPESTRY SEAT-FURNITURE
THE TAPESTRY LOUIS XVI, LATE 18TH CENTURY, THE FRAMES 19TH CENTURY
Comprising six fauteuils and a canapé, each with arched rectangular back, padded arms and bow-fronted seat covered in close-nailed tapestry centred to backs and seats with floral sprays within scrolling foliate and trailing husk borders, the leaf-tip and guilloche-carved frames, the arms with acanthus-wrapped supports above turned tapering and fluted legs terminating in toupie feet, three of the fauteuils pegged
The fauteuils; 35¾ in. (91 cm.) high; 28¾ in. (60.5 cm.) wide; 21 in. (53.5 cm.) deep
The canape; 38½ in. (98 cm.) high; 69 in. (175 cm.) wide; 28 in. (71 cm.) deep
