A SILVER-GILT AND CHAMPLEVÉ ENAMEL TEA GLASS HOLDER
Maker's mark indistinct, possibly Aleksandr Sokolov, St. Petersburg, 1880
The cylindrical body pierced with geometric motifs, the front applied with a varicolor enamel doorway in the style of a traditional izba, centering a cartouche engraved with the initials 'VT', hung with trompe l'oeil drapery swags, engraved with the inscription, 'St. Peterbourg Mai 1893 de la part d'Ode Polainsky', the key-form handle chased to simulate wood grain, on bracket feet, fully marked
