Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with guilloché case, monogram "GW" and garland in 1873 and its subsequent sale on 7 March 1874. Furthermore delivered with copy of the invoice from Patek Philippe Geneva dated 29 July 1986 for the "careful overhaul" totalling CHF 3,810.

This watch is one of the exceedingly rare early five minute repeating watches to appear in public to date. Consigned by a private collector, it is in well preserved, original overall condition.
