Lot Essay

We are grateful to Dr. Walter Liedtke of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, for suggesting an attribution to Anthonie de Lorme on the basis of photographs (written communication, 8 September 2008). An attribution to Anthonie Palamedesz. (Delft 1601-1673 Amsterdam) has been suggested for the figures.
