Lot Essay

The Compton Potters' Arts Guild, was established by Mary Seton Watts (d.1938), the wife of the Symbolist and portrait painter and sculptor George F.Watts (d.1904), producing decorative terracotta work in the village of Compton, near Guildford in 1895.
