Finely woven with a scene of Xiwangmu seated on a phoenix descending from the sky to greet Shoulao and his attendants, within a celestial setting of terraced pavilions with deer, crane, waterfalls and layered rocks dotted with peach, pine and ruyi amidst vaporous clouds, all picked out in shades of blue, green, rust, cream and brown, some of the details painted, primarily in black, all against a graduated russet-coloured ground
