Lot Essay

It is rare to find vases without the need for gilt-bronze embellishment, relying only on form and decoration. A vase with very similar decoration can be found in H. Brinker and A. Lutz, Chinese Cloisonne: The Pierre Uldry Collection, 1989, no. 228.
