A GROUP OF JADE CICADA AND PUPAE CARVINGS, LATE SHANG-HAN DYNASTY (CA. 1200BC-2ND CENTURY AD)
comprising two similar cicadas with incised details to both sides, one of dark grey tone, the other light green, each with white alteration to stone; a small pale green and russet jade praying mantis pendant, with engraved details on one side; a translucent light green jade bead carved as a cicada chrysalis; and a translucent green pendant carved as a flattened cicada chrysalis -- the first, 2 7/16in. (6.2cm.) long. (5)
