A JADE BELTHOOK AND FIVE JADE SWORD FITTINGS, HAN DYNASTY (206BC-220AD)
the belthook of a grey green and russet tone, altered to white in areas, carved with a dragon head on the hook end; a translucent brown jade sword chape, with sharply pointed sides, one end with one large drill hole pierced on its sides; an altered creamy white jade scabbard fitting, with incised c-scroll decoration; an almost completely calcified jade miniature sword chape, with one drill hole to one end; an altered creamy white scabbard fitting, decorated with c-scrolls; and a larger scabbard fitting completely altered to creamy white, carved in relief with tiny raised nodes -- the first, 5½in. (14cm) long. (6)
