A TIBETAN RITUAL BOWL AND COVER, 16TH CENTURY
the bowl and the cover similarly decorated on the exterior with animals representing four of the Five Poisons, the bowl with alternating scorpions, snakes and lizards, the cover with scorpions, snakes and toads, a band of skulls to the rims, the foot with a pierced panel of human faces, the cover finial in the form of a half vajra -- 4 7/8in. (12.4cm.) diam.
