A matched pair of Transitional blue and white bottle vases
Circa 1640
The lower globular section painted with a continuous scene of seven scholars at various leisurely pursuits in a terraced garden, two playing the qin, others reading and conversing, the cylindrical tapering neck decorated with upright stems of stylized tulips between jewels, divided by a horizontal globular section painted with a continuous band of meandering lotus and scrollwork (one with rim chips and body crack)
