A MEISSEN PORCELAIN CENTREPIECE EMBLEMATIC OF SPRING AND SUMMER
CIRCA 1750, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK
Modelled by J.J.Kändler and J.F.Eberlein, the pierced quatrefoil basket with a shell-moulded rim, the interior painted with a loose bouquet and sprigs, the exterior moulded with the Dulong pattern, the quatrefoil panels painted with birds perched on branches, supported by two scantily draped nymphs emblematic of Spring and Summer with attendant putti (extended hairline cracks, slight chipping to leaves, flowers and tip of corn, slight wear to gilding and enamels)
