Tapering handle inlaid with panels of bloodstone, garnets and blue gemstones, chased with scrolls and foliage, centred on one side with an oval lilac gem, the other with blank shield-shaped cartouche, the blade elaborately engraved, on one side with scrolls, stars and a radiating sunburst centred with the face of Apollo, the other with Celtic strapwork and blank shield-shaped cartouche
