A GREEK TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A WOMAN
TANAGRA, HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA MID 3RD CENTURY B.C.
Mold-made, depicted standing with her weight on her right leg, wearing a long chiton and a himation wrapped tightly around her shoulders, her right arm akimbo beneath the himation, her left hand clutching its edge, with zigzag folds cascading below, her head turned sharply to her right, her hair arranged in a melon-coiffure with a chignon in back, on an integral plinth, a rectangular exhaust in back, preserving some traces of polychrome, including red for the hair and drapery
