A silver trompe l'oeil tea and coffee-service
Cyrillic maker's mark of Girshi Lizerin, Moscow, 1895, with later French control marks
The tapering sides of the coffee pot, teapot, and two-handled sugar bowl repoussé, chased and engraved to simulate bast weave, with a folded corner of embroidered and fringed cloth tied by a string behind, each with hinged lid and mother-of-pearl insulators and finials, the milk jug and swing-handled cake basket of similar design, with oval two-handled tray engraved in the centre engraved with the cypher AJ, the border and handle-grips simulating bast weave, the strainer, lemon fork, sugar shovel and nippers all with similar panels to the handles and reverse of bowls, fully marked, in original fitted wooden case
