mark of Nicholls and Plincke with the Imperial warrant, workmaster's initials PK, St. Petersburg, mid-19th century
Oval, on four foliate scroll feet, the base supporting an oval cartouche engraved with initials AMA surmounted by the Imperial crown to either side of the boat-shaped salt cellars, the base and salts with trompe l'oeil branch rims terminating in a central floral ring handle between the latter, marked under base and one salt
