Lot Essay

The decoration on the present belt buckle recalls that of a cigarette-case and vesta-case by Michael Perchin from the collection of Charles Antoine Roger Luzarche d'Azay (see G. von Habsburg and M. Lopato, Fabergé: Imperial Jeweler, New York, 1994, p. 376, no. 279, illustrated).
