NAPOLEON I (1769-1821), Emperor of the French. Three documents signed (the first two 'Bonaparte', the third 'Accordé Nap'), the first Cairo, 3 July 1799, giving detailed instruction for the collection of grain or payments in lieu in the provinces of Benisuef, Fayoun and Kaire, stipulating that no allowance is to be made for alleged payments of grain to the Mamelukes unless it they were exacted by force and the village has never declared against the French, the second Acre, 13 May 1799, directing his paymaster general to make a payment of 1500 francs to Citizen Glouties, 'sur les rentrées de la Palestine', one page, folio, printed heading of République Française, the third n.p., 15 August 1808, an endorsement to a report from Clarke suggesting changes to the training colleges in view of the shortage of trained officers in artillery and engineering, one page, folio;
