A collection of earlier essays by Giovio, part of the Descriptiones volumes edited by J. Herold. Giovio's essay on Muscovy is followed by a description of Lake Como, and his popular De piscibus romanis, first published 1524, which describes the various fish eaten by Romans, where they can be caught and how to prepare them.
