The small house outside the village of Catusseau was owned, along with a single hectare of vines, by a Mme, Loubie, who sold her wine as generic Pomerol. In 1979 the property was bought by Jacques Thienpont, with his father and uncle. In 1984 the vineyard was extended into the vegetable patch opposite, forming the current 2.3 ha. of predominantly Merlot (88 and Cabernet Franc (12.
